Design With Us at the 2023 Cambridge Science Festival With EpiArts Alliance!

Introducing EpiArts Alliance! A purple ribbong with a dramatic mask in the middle of the ribbon

How can disabilities, design thinking and STEM innovation change our world? Design With Us is collaborating with STEM on Stage and EpiArts Alliance for a STEAM-inspired evening at the 2023 Cambridge Science Festival at the Cambridge Public Library on September 26 in Cambridge, MA.

Our return to the Cambridge Science Festival features Marvel's Hero Project, Episode One (22 mins) featuring our co-founder Jordan Reeves. Learn how disabilities can revolutionize design thinking — and how Jordan's quest to make design more inclusive led to the invention of Project Unicorn. Find out how Jordan inspires other kids and teens to use design to change their world.

As part of Design With Us, we are proud to announce a brand new collaborative lab project with EpiArts Alliance! EpiArts Alliance is a movement that recognizes the talents and challenges of performers with Epilepsy. Co-founders Anzli McNew and Heather McNew, along with founding team members Nicole Hughes and Maxx Reed, believe that Epilepsy should never be a barrier to artistic expression. Through design & advocacy work, EpiArts Alliance empowers performers with Epilepsy to pursue their dreams on the stage, while also fostering understanding and support within the performing arts industry. We are excited to announce this brand-new collaboration at the Cambridge Science Festival!

EpiArts Alliance believes that inclusivity is a collaborative effort, and we invite you to join us in welcoming this new initiative. Whether you're an artist, a supporter, or simply someone who believes in the power of the arts to inspire change, there's a place for you in our community. Stay tuned for updates on our website, social media, and at the Cambridge Science Festival, and let's create a world where every performer shines brightly.

As part of CSF 2023, Design With Us is excited to host a digital theater presentation Humanity Needs Dreamers: A Visit With Marie Curie (42 mins) produced by STEM on Stage. Pioneering the field of radioactivity, two-time Nobel Prize-winning scientist Marie Skłodowska Curie changed the world with her discovery of two new elements  -- but almost never entered the laboratory. What if she could tell her story? Portrayed by living history scholar & engineer Susan Marie Frontczak and produced/directed by Design With Us board member Jen Myronuk.

Design With Us is committed to supporting initiatives like EpiArts Alliance and our ongoing efforts to reshape the future through design. If you'd like to contribute and support our organization with a tax-deductible donation, please visit our donation link. Thank you for being a part of our journey!
